Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 1 month old | 9.5 lbs
My 4 y/o male cat didn't eat all day, was staggering, going round in circles and had sunken eyes. Looked like heatstroke/dehydration. Emergency hospital vet gave him Vitamin B complex shot, prescribed a multivitamin syrup and prescribed Jetepar (detox agent with glucometamine, glucodiamine and nicotinamide ascorbate) 1ml twice a day for 14 days to help his liver recover. What's the link between this med and heatstroke? Should I give it to him Any side effects? He's eating now but still depressed

Hello. This is a product that is not used in the United States, but since it is primarily amino acids & vitamins, it should be rather safe. Was Loki on fluids? This would be extremely important to correct his dehydration. The most common cause of heatstroke in cats is when they get trapped somewhere, like a car or storage building. The increased temperatures can cause significant organ damage, & if he was trapped for several days, cats are unique in developing liver problems from even a few days of starvation. It is good that he is eating as this is the most positive sign of his recovery. Follow your veterinarians recommendations & hopefully Loki will be feeling better soon. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
