Dog had sudden liquid diarrhea, now playing. Emergency vet needed?

Hi, my dog is a 10 month old male husky. About 10 minutes ago he went to his cage and just started crying and wailing and had an episode of liquid diarrhea. He is acting completely normal now and is back to playing but I'm still pretty worried about him. Should we take him to the emergency vet?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Jeneau. Poor boy. He may have a stomach illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have intestinal worms causing this diarrhea. Make sure he's up to date on his deworming treatments, and I can give you a home remedy for the diarrhea to see if that helps. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Hi, Prisha has done diaharrea 5 times within the last 10 hours, around 10-12 oz each time, we didn't see the first one because it was hidden behind the sofa... so she ate her breakfast as usual. She is happy and playful. she is drinking lots of water

My dog just vomited up the last two things he's had. But he also had a small bout of diarrhea before that occurred. Should I be concerned?
Hi there! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is difficult to know exactly what is going on based on that as vomiting and diarrhea can be observed with many conditions. Having said that, this can be observed in cases of gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among many other conditions. I recommend that you withhold food tonight but keep water available at all times to avoid dehydration. You may start a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice tomorrow. If clinical signs of vomiting and diarrhea continue, have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Good luck!

My dog has Diarrhea, should I take her to emergency vet or I can monitor her for 24 -48 hours? Please see picture attached. Should I continue to feed her?
Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. If Koko has good appetite, no vomiting and her energy level is high, you can monitor her at home. You should put her on a bland diet (lean, cooked meat with some rice or pasta) for a few days. If she continues to pass diarrhea over the weekend, or if she becomes lethargic or starts to vomit, you should take her to your local vets or call your emergency service.

My 1 year old lab just started having diarrhea yesterday... she is still full of engery and acting like her normal self. She just went threw her 1st heat but there is not chance of her being pregnant... what could be causing her diarrhea... nothing f
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Mocha! Common causes of diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, ate something outside/human food/a treat that caused stomach upset, viral or bacterial infections, food sensitivity or toxin ingestion. If the diarrhea is bad (accidents in the house, going every few hours) then fast her for 12-24 hours. Do not limit water. Then restart feeding as a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day until 2 normal stools. You can also start a probiotic, I like Purina Fortiflora. You can find it online. If the diarrhea doesn't improve by monday she should see the Vet. She may have to be seen sooner if blood shows up in the stool. Is this diarrhea? I just got home from work and my dog’s poop is like this. It’s dark in color and seems kinda jelly in texture.
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Yes, it looks like Snowy is having some diarrhea. Diarrhea can be caused by a number of things, ranging from dietary indiscretion (he ate something he shouldn't have), diet change, gastrointestinal parasites (worms), or other organ system diseases like liver disease, kidney disease, pancreatitis, etc. I recommend feeding Snowy a bland diet such as boiled (unseasoned) chicken or hamburger and rice, in a ratio of 2 parts rice to 1 part meat, for the next 3-4 days, to help firm up his stools. You can also try adding in a small amount of Metamucil (original, unflavored) powder to this food. Metamucil is an over-the-counter fiber supplement for people that we often use to help dogs with diarrhea. He would likely benefit from about 1/4 teaspoon of Metamucil in his food twice a day. If you are not noticing an improvement in his diarrhea after 2-3 days, I recommend bringing him (and a sample of his stool) to your veterinarian. At that time
