Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Logan and for providing a picture, it's very helpful. I suspect that this may be an abscess. Please do not squeeze it. I would take him into the vet in the morning. The vet can drain it in a sterile manner, give him pain medication, and antibiotics. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! There are many possibilities, Bubby may have an abscess from a bit especially if he is an outdoor cat, it could be a mat of hair if he is a long haired cat or it could be a tumor. I recommend having him looked at tomorrow by your Vet. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Tummy! Possible causes for a lump are: an abscess, a skin mass, or an internal mass in his belly. If Tummy has lost weight or is having any other change either behaviorally or appetite wise I recommend having him evaluated by your Vet. If the mass and in the skin (not the belly), is soft it is likely an abscess or a cyst. Sine this is a new finding I recommend having him seen by your Vet to be safe. HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I wonder if Shadow is an outside cat. If he is and the swelling had a sudden onset it could be an abscess from fighting with another cat or animal. The fact you describe it as possibly liquidy could indicate puss. If her cat is older and indoors it could be a cystic mass. I would recommend that she have a Vet take a look at it today before the weekend in case it is an abscess before it possibly breaks open. If it is an abscess the Vet may open it for it to drain and provide antibiotics Good luck!.

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern! Judging from the picture, it looks as though there is a puncture in the center of the lump. I suspect this to be an abscess from some sort of penetrating injury (bite, scratch, etc.). I would recommend having this looked at by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If this is an abscess, it will likely need to be drained, flushed and then he will need to go on an oral antibiotic as well. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! Hello, my cat has big fluid (water) filled lump beneath her skin, located at under her right arm, I have a picture. I need help please. Thank you.
This sounds like an area of infection which is common in cats. The abscess can be caused by a bite or scratch. I recommend checking the area for a scab and clean the area trying to remove the scab. Then the pussy fluid will drain out and the area will start to heal. Abscesses can be painful and hot to the touch. If this isn’t hot or painful then you cat may have an injury causing the fluid filled area. I do recommend a veterinary exam and treatment as this sounds abnormal but if she’s fine otherwise, not painful and eating and drinking then you can monitor this. If its getting smaller then I’m not overly concerned but if it’s not improving then it’s time to get it checked out. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for your cat.

Hi I found an odd little lump in my cats back left side. It’s quite weird it’s pusy and doesn’t have any hair on it almost looks like a stuck out wort I have a picture too
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This could even be an abscess. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. My cat has a lump on his side that has been growing the past week getting close to golf ball size. It's very squishy and is painfull for my cat if touched or when he is moving around
One of the most common causes of soft, painful lumps in young cats is an abscessed wound. Other possibilities include a cyst or benign or malignant mass. At this point, your best bet is to take Cat to the vet for evaluation. The vet will be able to evaluate the lesion and may need to draw some cells out of the lump for microscopic analysis. If an abscess is diagnosed, the vet may need to drain and flush the area, as well as start Cat on a course of antibiotics. I hope that all goes well!

I have a 4 yr old female cat that I found a lump on her lower stomach roughly half dollar sized and hard. Now today when I was looking at the lumb it now has a big open sore on it. I have been looking at images online, but can't seem to figure it out
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is likely from her mammary gland. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. It may just be a sebaceous cyst (a collection of oily debts under the skin) or a small area of inflammation from another cause. If its not painful and he isn't licking at it, I recommend that you make point once a week to measure it at home. If its changing in size over a couple of months or if it becomes bothersome, have it checked out at your vet. If your cat is too upset for a thorough exam, a little sedation may be recommended by your vet so that he/she can see what it is that you're seeing and make the appropriate recommendations. Hello! My cat looks like a photo. What is this?
While it is difficult to tell for certain from the picture, I would strongly suspect there is an infection going on. I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian to have it evaluated. It will most likely require medication to treat the infection. If there is a collection of infected fluid under the skin (abscess), that will most likely require further treatment as well.
