Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 26 lbs
Our 13 month-old Aussie was groomed (shampoo, clast week. It appeared that they had to shave part of her abdomen; however, she has never had much fur there. We have since noticed red spots. They are generally red in colour except for a few darker ones. I have looked carefully in the fur on the periphery and cannot see any spots. She is full of vim and vigour, bright, alert, and her appetite has not changed.

These spots are usually due to a bacterial skin infection. the round red spots, hesitating in circular darker areas are commonly called epidermal collarettes. A mild antiseptic shampoo for dogs based on 4% chlorhexidine digluconate can be used with good results in these cases. This can be used twice weekly until complete resolution is seen.
