Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Italian Greyhound | Male | neutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 17 lbs

Hello I live in rural Thailand...I have an Italian greyhound and then the last two weeks he's developed a foot issue with open sores between his toes. Currently it's affecting both his back feet. I gave him anti allergy medicine but that is not helped him.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I suspect the sore feet are related to skin infection or allergic problem. Please, clean the feet in 4% chlorhexidine solution (available over the counter at pharmacies) twice a day and make sure Chip is not licking or chewing the feet excessively. However, if there is no improvement to this treatment in 3-4 days, you should take your dog to your nearest vets for an appointment.
