Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Rebel. Poor girl. It may be her intestinal tract is so irritated from the diarrhea that it's now turned bloody or she could have hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Because it's turned bloody, it's time to see the vet. I would take her into a vet today to get this diagnosed and treated. I hope this helps!

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about May. Oh no, poor girl. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, if she has bloody poop while food is withheld, she refuses to eat the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. I hope this helps!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Bloody stools can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. This is likely unrelated to the surgeries in June. This may be transient and not occur again. However, if this continues, I recommend that you have Hunny evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications depending on the results. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

I’m not sure if this is diarrhea or bloody stool
Oh dear! It's hard to tell whether this is bloody diarrhea or vomit, as either one can be this color and consistency in some cases. You can try dabbing a paper towel gently around your pet's rectum to see if there are any traces of diarrhea there, as this can sometimes help to sort out where it came from. Regardless of whether this is vomit or diarrhea, it does look very concerning. If possible, I would recommend taking your pet to an emergency clinic tonight to be seen - especially if he/she is acting lethargic or not wanting to eat. Severe bloody vomit or diarrhea like this can be caused by a number of serious issues, including a bleeding stomach ulcer, HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), pancreatitis, or ingestion of something toxic. Your veterinarian can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get your pet started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

My puppy has blood in his diarrhea. It happened an hour before. He look like something definitely bothers him. Before 11PM he was fine

This blood in his diarrhea could be due to intestinal worms, eating something rotten, a foreign body, parvo if he isn't vaccinated, or a severe stomach illness. He should definitely see a vet for this. As long as he is otherwise ok, it can wait until the morning. If he starts vomiting, has more bloody diarrhea, is very lethargic, stops drinking water, or is vomiting water, take him into an ER vet immediately. I hope this helps!

We were away shopping came back home and found our dog to have diarrhea and red blood on the floor she seemed ok. Took the food away. Left just water out for her. She is an seven year old Shelty say at home. What do we do?
It sounds as Dahlia is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Oh dear! Extremely bloody diarrhea like this is very concerning. This is often caused by an illness called HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), but it could also be due to a bleeding disorder of some kind, a severe systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or ingestion of something toxic. Regardless of the underlying cause, this is a medical emergency - dogs with these symptoms often become much sicker and die within hours without aggressive treatment including IV fluids, antibiotics, and medication to stop the diarrhea and/or vomiting. I would recommend taking your dog to the nearest emergency vet immediately.

Lulu has had diarrhea throughout the day, but she just pooped and there was blood. I gave her an anti diarrhea medicine. Is there anything else to do?
If the next bowel movement also contains blood then it should she should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. If she starts vomiting, not eating, or acting lethargic then those are also signs to have her seen immediately. Encourage fluid intake as well. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. I have a 9 mo golden retriever who has had diarrhea since Monday morning. The diarrhea is because I changed her diet suddenly, but it is 48 hours later and she’s still have diarrhea, now with mucous and blood in it, and she’s crying in pain b/c her b
It sounds like you have done everything at home you can for Pebbles. Since it has been over 48 hours it is time to take her to your vet. Bring a stool sample if you are able to. Your vet will likely recommend some antibiotics for the diarrhea as well as some probiotics too. If Pebbles seems dehydrated or is painful in her abdomen then your vet may recommend fluids and/or X-rays as well. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Best of luck!

Hello. I am always concerned when there is blood in the stool for more than a day or so. At this point, it is difficult to say if the cat food caused this or something else is going on, like parasites, or some form of enteritis/colitis. I would definitely consider a trip to your vet to make sure there is not an ongoing problem & possibly starting Tika on a course of antibiotics. I hope she is feeling better soon.
