Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Luna. This is a medical emergency, and she has to see a vet now. I see that she isn't spayed and this behavior can be a sign of a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. Your only option is to take her into a vet immediately. That's not good that Luna constantly throws up! It could be she has a severe GI illness, parvovirus if she isn't vaccinated, a foreign body, may have eaten something rotten or toxic, or could have pancreatitis. I see that she isn't spayed, and while it wouldn't be common in a dog her age, she could possibly have a pyometra (an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment). A dog who is constantly throwing up is considered a medical emergency, and she needs to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. My dog is being sick and is unable to keep anything down including water. What shall i do?
Poor Daisy sounds very ill at the moment, I would take her into the vet immediately. I see that she isn't spayed, and she could be suffering from a pyometra which is an infection of the uterus. A pyometra is fatal without treatment. She could also have a severe GI illness, pancreatitis, a foreign body, or may have eaten something rotten or toxic. Because I can't see her in person, I can't rule out a pyometra and those are medical emergency. The best thing to do is take her into a vet now. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms and can treat her as needed. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Good luck!

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Darcy. Poor girl. Signs that you need to take her now include vomiting a lot in a short space of time (i.e. five times in five to 10 minutes), vomiting water, not drinking water, having diarrhea, or being very lethargic. If she doesn't show any of those signs, then you can wait to take her into the vet in the morning. I hope this helps!

My dog threw up white milky substance. Last few days she has had belly pain, bloody diarrhea, gas, and slight breathing abnormality. What could a possible diagnosis be?
It could be that Luna is suffering from a foreign body, could have GI tumors, may have eaten something toxic, or could have a pyometra (a life threatening infection of the uterus). Her symptoms are a medical emergency, and she needs to see a vet now. She needs veterinary attention immediately, please bring her into a vet asap.

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Luna. Any blood loss should be evaluated immediately by your veterinarian. The causes are many including toxins (rat poison), a dietary problem, irritants, foreign bodies, infections by viruses/bacteria, or other reasons that impair the blood clotting system. Some autoimmune diseases and tick borne diseases come to mind also. Only your vet can assess and run the appropriate tests to determine what is going on. Normally after an exam the following can be advised - blood coagulation studies, standard blood tests, fecal exam, x-rays/ultrasound, etc. Treatment of course depends on the cause determined. Get Luna seen as soon as possible and Good Luck.

Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. I would suggest to monitor Lola at home for the next 2-3hrs. Please, do not offer her anything to eat or drink till 11pm and then try and give her small amount of water. If she drinks it and keeps it down, you can offer her small amount of bland food (for example cooked piece of chicken). If she eats it, you should offer her more bland food and water in the morning. However, if she continues to vomit or passes liquid diarrhea, you should take her to your local emergency service tonight. Vomiting in such a young puppy is usually related to gastrointestinal infection, worms, food indiscretion, feeding errors.

My dog will not eat or drink
Hi and thanks for your post on Boop by Petco! I am sorry Luna is not feeling good enough to eat or drink. If this has been going on for more then 24 hours, I would take Luna to a veterinarian to get checked out. There could be a medical reason behind disinterest in eating and drinking. If you just got her or just adopted her, sometimes it takes a day for them to adjust to their new home environment and may not eat or drink much for the 1st 24 hours after being brought home. However, I would see a veterinarian if Luna has been disinterested in eating or drinking anything for more than 24 hours as this could indicate a medical problem. A pyometra is fatal without treatment, and it causes vomiting, weakness, and lethargy, all signs she is showing. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain if she has one or not, but because of the seriousness of a pyometra I would take her into vet now.
