What is this smelly burst pimple on my pet that doesn't hurt?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed

What is wrong with her and how do I treat it. It doesn't bother her. It started out like a pimple and then busted open. It has an odor to it.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Sophie and for providing a picture, it's very helpful. I'm wondering if she has an abscess and if there is an odor, that means the area is infected. You need to have her seen by a vet for this. The vet can clean the area, and give her antibiotics and pain medication. Please take her into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

How do you tell the difference between a sore and a pimple on a dog?
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! The area in the picture looks like an area of what I would call excoriation or skin irritation usually seen when a dog scratches an area extensively due to itching. The yellowish area can be a pimple or what we call a pustule (a pimple containing pus). Pimples and pustules are usually raised lesions, extending up from the skin. It's a little difficult making out much detail in the picture. Sometimes damaged areas of skin turn yellowish like that and are usually flat in appearance, not raised up like a pimple/pustule. My 1 year old healer has a pimple/blister in her armpit. It started out small but has doubled in size in the last week. She has had it for about a month.

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is very hard to say without seeing Safire. It sounds like it could be a cyst (a large pimple). It is common for them to fill and burst. I recommend showing it to your vet at your next visit. They will stick a needle in it and look at the cells under the microscope to determine. Good luck and kisses to Safire!

14 days ago, I noticed a small pimple like wound on my dogs fur around the rib cage area. Since I noticed it 1 4 days ago, it has gotten larger, and seems to ooze a little matting the hairs around it. I'm very concerned! Doesn't seem to really bother
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Suzie! It's hard to see the growth well from your picture and sadly a lot of skin growths can look the same, even benign vs cancerous ones. I always recommend that any new growths be evaluated by your Vet. Possible causes are: a skin infection, sebaceous adenoma, a wound or abscess, histiocytoma, mast cell tumor, etc. You can start with shaving the fur away from the growth, cleaning it twice daily with mild soap and water and then applying a triple antibiotic cream twice daily. If Suzie is licking the area use an E-collar to prevent that. If the area doesn't improve in a few days then have your Vet examine it. I hope this helps and I wish Suzie the best!

My dog has a pimple looking dot on his nose. It looks like it’s filled with puss. Is it okay for me to touch or should I go to the vet ?

Hello, My dog had a pimple on his back which the vet popped and it went down. Now he has a lump in that Same area it is oozing blood and hard for me to see as parts have dried with his hair. I'm going to bring him back to the vet but i wanted to know
First of all you are going to be ok as blood does not carry any infection that can be transmitted to you. Even though a picture would help to understand better the underlying cause better, this presentation could be due to a trauma (previous manipulation) or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. Hi there, Pika has just had 4 spots appear on her stomach that look to be filled with puss. They look similar to pimples. She’s not bothered by the. But they look painful. Any thoughts?
This could be localized skin infection. It would need to be confirmed by your veterinarian though. It may require no treatment, just topical treatment or a combination of topical and systemic treatment. Keep the area clean and dry. If she licks at it, place an e-collar (cone) on her. You can cleanse the area using diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) once or twice daily. Dry thoroughly afterwards. If it doesn't begin to resolve after 2-3 days, have her seen by your veterinarian.

As I was petting her yesterday I noticed a pimple like bump on her left side. Could this just be a bug bite? Or something more serious? Should I put anything on it?

i have a female Pomeranian her age is 8yrs, suddenly i have noticed a pimple like boil on her nipple and some puss is also coming out, can u please tell why is it happening.
