White growth on cat's back after shaving. Should I worry?

I just had my cat shaved (at a veterinary clinic) today and noticed she has a small white growth on her back. It doesn't look red or swollen. It almost looks like just the whiteheads of a pimple in a small cluster. It may just be a patch of dry skin, but I'm wondering if it's something more serious and I should get it looked at?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Juliet and for providing pictures, they are very helpful. She is beautiful! It may be a bit of dry skin or a benign growth. It doesn't look serious to me in the pictures and I'd just keep an eye on it for now. If it gets bigger, appears infected, or starts to bother her, then I'd have her seen by a vet for it. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Steven. I'm not sure what these are just by looking at the pictures. It's possible they are small localized areas of infection. If they persist, worsen or other signs develop (itching, scratching, etc) I would advise taking Steven to your veterinarian. These lesions may just resolve on their own without any treatment. Again, monitor them, if changes occur have your vet evaluate them. Your vet can get a firsthand look at them and recommend treatment if needed. Good luck

I just noticed that my cat has a white bump on her head, it kinda looks like a skin tag!! It’s tiny, at first I thought it was a scab!! It moves with the skin and is not attached!! She’s 4 years old!! What could it be?
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Judging from the photos you provided, I suspect this is a benign skin mass from its appearance. These generally are find to just keep an eye on but if you would like it gone, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the mass and discuss options for removal. Hello, I found some kind of a small white bump/pus on the skin (back side area) of my 12 year old Siamese cat. she has no history of disease/illness, her behavior hasn't changed much. I would like to know what is it, and how to cure it?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is not possible to know what it is for sure without being able to examine it microscopically. This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Was just curious if I should be worried about these bumps on my cats back.
Hello. Icarus may have a mild case of allergic dermatitis. The first thing is to make sure she is on the best flea preventative that your veterinarian recommends, even if she is strictly indoors. If she is not particularly itching, grooming excessively or losing hair, there may not be much you need to worry about. If it is causing her some problems, please see your vet for treatments to relieve the itching. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

My cat has a small red bump that almost looks like a scabbed over pimple. It doesn’t seem like it hurts her, but I wanted to know if should bring her to the vet
Hello there, Thanks for the good photo. If it is a small minor wound like a pimple or scratch, it should be mostly healed within a week of forming. If its been present for longer than that or is worsening, I would be more concerned that it is the start of an infection or growth that would benefit from being seen by her veterinarian. I need to know if my cat has a skin tag on his back, if it’s something worse, or if it is no big deal. It currently has a scab on part of it as we accidentally cut it when shaving him.
Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. It looks like a skin growth. If it is bleeding, getting bigger or causing discomfort to Cosmo, you should take him to your local vet for an appointment to rule out malignant skin mass. It it stays small and is not bothering your cat, you can monitor it at home for now.

Found a small flat raised lump on left shoulder 2 weeks ago. Vets trips are extremely traumatic for him so I have waited but I am now more worried that if it is something bad I don't want to delay. Not inflamed no apparent pain but his fur is missing
It's hard to tell the size but it looks like it may be a benign wart or growth. It appears to be more on the surface of the skin which is good, and it is well defined. Cats do get malignant skin growths so it is a good idea to have your veterinarian examine it and feel underneath also. They can easily remove this if necessary and do a biopsy. I'm not overly concerned looking at the photo but it's best to be sure. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Louis.

Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. Growing skin lumps and tags should be investigated and treated. This one does not look like a typical benign and harmless ski tag (still could be !), so please take Fluffington to your local vets for an appointment. Your vet may recommend to treat it with anti-inflammatory cream or to aspirate it with a needle to find out what type of growth this is.

Hello, what is this growth that recently developed on between my cat's right eye and nose?
It is difficult to know just from the picture what that is, but it looks like a benign (non-cancerous) skin growth. It may be like a small war or cyst. I would recommend monitoring it for now. If it continues to grow larger than you should have it looked at by your veterinarian. They can do an aspiration and cytology to see what kind of cells are making up the mass and if it needs to be removed. But if it is not bothering her for now just continue to monitor. I had to shave my cats fur under her neck because of matting and noticed dark pigmentation on her skin. Is that normal?
