My dog's ears are red, itchy, and he's panting. Is it allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | neutered | 4 years and 3 months old | 70 lbs

What do I do with my dog which seems to have an allergy on his ears (not apparently the inner ear, but the inside skin). It becomes red, itchy and then he rubs himself against any rugged surface and starts to pant heavily.

It looks like your dog may be prone to ear infections. This could be due to environmental or food allergies. I would try to get to the bottom of the allergy. In the meantime, you should het ear medications from your family vet to soothe ands treat Rocu's ears. You may also need to get a cone to prevent him from rubbing.
