Is my cat's 7-day spay wound healing properly? What about the gap?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 9 lbs

Does my cats 7 day old spay wound look like it’s healing properly? I’m concerned about that little gap and can’t tell if it’s just a scab or if I should go to the vet?

Hinand thanks for your request. The wound looks dry and does not seem inflamed at all. The small gap is not ideal of course but it will heal by second intention. If there is no discharge or discomfort when touched a vet consultation is NOT needed at this stage.
