My spayed puppy has vaginitis. Should I worry about her missing first heat?

We took our puppy for a check up and mentioned how after she pees there is a slight amount of residue left after. With no other signs/symptoms our vet said it could be vaginitis and it will go away on its own. We got her spayed and then found out people recommend puppies with vaginitis should go through their first heat. Obviously that can’t happen now so should we be worried? Should we look for anything or is their anything we should now? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 8 days old | 36 lbs

I am not aware of any connection between puppy vaginitis and heat cycles. Vaginitis and pyoderma are common in puppies as their hormones change. As long as she is urinating with normal frequency, is not licking the vulva more than normal, there is no redness or foul discharge, etc, I wouldn't be too concerned. You can use a clean paper towel to wipe after Kala urinates.
