My 1 year Chihuahua has not ate in 2 days and is sleeping a lot. My local vet will not be in the office until next week. I’m very worried! What could It possibly be and what can I do to help him.

There are a wide variety of possible causes for anorexia and lethargy in a young dog, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, bacterial or viral infection (especially parvo virus in improperly vaccinated dogs), intestinal blockage, colitis, among others. I would recommend trying to schedule an appointment at a vet in a different area, as this really shouldn't wait for another week.
