Why is my 6-week-old puppy having trouble controlling her poop?

Well we have had our dog for about 5 months and she has had diarrhea for about 3-4 months constant and we just got an 8 week old puppy three days ago and no he has the same issue.
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear that Sadie and the new puppy are having problems. Most likely this is parasite related/intestinal worms. A good broad spectrum dewormer would be advised in this case to start out with. Puppies and adult dogs can become infected and pass the parasites back and forth. The environment gets seeded with the parasite eggs and then the dogs get infected by a fecal exposure/oral ingestion route. Puppies should be dewormed every 3 weeks for at least 3-4 dewormings and adult dogs should be dewormed every 30 days along with their heartworm prevention if that is advised in your area. Intestinal parasites seem most likely because they both have it now. Other causes are possible including a dietary problem, environmental exposure to something causing diarrhea, etc. I would advise a vet check for both of them and your vet will do a physical exam and then probably advise some fecal tests to determine what parasites are involved. Why is my 13 week olD puppy soiling in her crate while she sleeps. Also in her sleeping area. We have it closed in small as well.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It looks like Mocha has diarrhea. I recommend taking her and a fresh stool sample to the vet to check for microscopic parasites. New Pet
We just got a new pup. And she is having horrible accidents, I know it takes time to get used to but wondering if we need to take her to a vet asap. They are super runny and not whole at all.

Why is my dog poop like this? Is there something wrong, because he poop 4x this morning.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Diarrhea in a puppy is concerning as it can indicate gastrointestinal infections such as parvovirus which are serious. Other possibilities include intestinal worms or dietary indiscretion, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Cooper evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment based on findings. At the very least, he can be started on anti-diarrhea medications. Good luck!

I have had my labrador puppy for 1 week now and she has suffered from loose stools since yesterday morning, there is no blood present and she has been fed on her dry puppy food only. Is there anything I should do to firm her stools?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! As young puppies are susceptible to many causes of diarrhea, I would highly recommend having Luna seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible to test for parvo and parasites. Whatever the testing results, this will allow treatment to be as pointed as possible, helping her get over the ailment as fast as possible. Other possibilities include Luna eating something she should not eat, receiving excessive treats (hard to avoid when trying to train a puppy, so maybe talk to your vet about alternative treat options), other infectious diseases, and congenital abnormalities to name a few. Parasites and infectious disease are by far the most common, so ruling them out is the first step. Hope this helps!

Blue, 2 nights in a row, pooped on his cage. It is mushy, and smells weird. When he sits down on the couch, there is a wet spot where he sat, but it isn’t poop. What could be happening?? Please help!!

I suspect that what you describe could be actually liquid feces or if not it could be anal sac fluid which can be expressed excessively in cases of gastrointestinal issues. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor May! Causes of diarrhea in a puppy are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, toxin ingestion, reaction to a new treat/food.human food or an allergy to her current food. I would start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lb until 2 normal stools. You can also start a probiotic like Purina Fortiflora or Nutramax Proviable, I would also have her stool check for parasites. If she is not improved by mid next week she needs to be seen. Good luck!

Karma is about 4 weeks old. No shots or dewormers yet, because her appt is for her 6 week bday. I've started weaning her off formula by mixing it with chicken and rice dry puppy food (authority brand) and been noticing she has inconsistent bowel move
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Soft stools can be normal as they transition from formula to kibble or canned food. If she is otherwise doing well, this may be ok. If it ever becomes consistent diarrhea, have her evaluated by a veterinarian before her scheduled appointment. Keep in mind that it may be best to continue the formula until she is 6 weeks old. My puppy is pretty much adherent to his schedule of pooping, which is about 20-30 minutes after his meal. But I have noticed for about 3 times now, whenever he gets nervous about new experiences outside of our house, he would poop even if he has not
