Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old
My cat has an umbilical hernia and the vet does not accept umbilical hernia repair surgeries during this time because of Coronavirus. My partner's "playtime" with my cat involves applying considerable force with his hand or feet onto his belly and pushing it up and down multiple times until my cat makes choking sound. I begged him to stop but he continues as he believes this will not worsen my cat's umbilical hernia but I am very worried. Will this action affect my cat's umbilical hernia? Thanky

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Simba. To be honest, this play sounds too rough for him, and I don't like that it gets to the point where he makes a choking sound. Your partner should not do this to him, and this action can affect his umbilical hernia. You should try to ensure your partner does not "play" with him like this anymore. Best of luck.
