Cat's dry food expired. Is it safe to feed or should I throw it out?

How harmful is an expired dry food for my cat?! Should I throw out what is left ? Or Can I still give it to the outdoor cats in the neighborhood? Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 6.6 lbs
