My pet passed. What to do with their unused meds and medical supplies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 14 years and 5 months old | 45 lbs

Chloe is scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow and I was wondering what I should do with all of her unused medications, needles, and IV bags. Do I throw them away or can I turn them into a clinic or something?

I am so sorry to hear this :( Typically the vet you use will take back the medications and use them for a hardship case where owners do not have money to treat. Also, local dog rescue groups or your local shelter may be willing to take those items.
