Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Van | Female | unspayed
Hi, I have adopted a kitten (Mila) over a month ago. Mila was a stray kitten diagnosed with Rhinotracheitis, the vet told me to treat her badly infected eyes with Tetracycline (an antibiotic ointment to treat secondary bacteria), however, it has been 5 weeks and there is little improvement. her eyes are still covered with a white layer, moreover, her third eyelids are protruding. Should her eyes be treated with antiviral ointment or else? I think she has keratitis. Thank you

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Mila. Oh my, her eyes look really bad. If the Tetracycline isn't working, yes she needs a different medication but I can't say what without seeing her in person. I would say her eyes are a medical emergency and she needs to see a vet immediately. Please take her into one now. Best of luck.
