My parrot is vomiting after eating. Is it serious? Did it eat onion?

*My pet bird alexandrine parrot is vomit after eating and also sometimes else . He already vomited 6 times .He Ate some pieces of onion when we were not around him. I don't know what I should do ? so please help*

Thanks for reaching out about Monu and including photos. Regurgitation can be caused by many thing such as ingestion of foreign material (plastic, fabric, wood, etc), toxic ingestion (lead, zinc,plants), metabolic disorders (liver, kidney), infections and several viral diseases. Each of these have different means of diagnosis and possible treatments, therefore a veterinary visit is recommended. Chronic regurgitation can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, malnutrition, and more, making a veterinary visit even more expedient. Try offering small amounts of food and water, more frequently to decrease possibility of regurgitation. Good luck.
