My cat has tapeworm symptoms. Can he wait until the vet opens?

I think my cat has tapeworm. My vet is closed until Tuesday. Will he be okay?

Thank your contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Titan. Yes, he should be ok to wait until Tuesday. Be sure to get him some flea medication while at the vet, as it's fleas that carry and transmit tapeworms to cats. I hope this helps!

You should treat both cats, monday should be fine, and repeat in 4weeks again. Cleaning litter trays is important with immediate disposal of feces to prevent reinfection. Medications effective against both round and tapeworms are recommended for full cover and are available from vets and reputable pet stores

Poor Raphael. It could be he has tapeworms. Keep feeding him the bland diet of chicken and rice, and it's fine to wait until Tuesday to have him seen as long as he is eating and drinking. Best of luck.

Yes, although it is gross, he should be fine until you can see your veterinarian. If you can, save the vomit for your vet to confirm roundworm infection. Do not offer any food to your cat tonight. A small bowl of water or unflavored PediaLyte can be left out.

How long do I need to wait before giving my cat tapeworm medicine since she was given round worm dewormer
Unless your vet gave you specific instructions, the dewormers are different medications and do not interact, so they can be given at the same time. The only reason to separate the dewormers would be if there is a large worm infestation and the deworming is likely to cause diarrhea. To be on the safe side, you could wait 2 days after the roundworm medication to give the tapeworm medication. Hello. This is definitely a tapeworm. Go to https://www.chewy.com ( or check with your local pet retailer ) & pick up Bayer tapeworm de-wormer for cats. That will take care of the problem for now. In order to feworm him and also hit tape worm you will need a wormer for cats with the ingredient of "Praziquantel". Tape worm are transmitted by fleas, so you will also need to do flea control. Unfortunately fleas only hop on the body of your pet when they want to feed, then they hop off again and stay in your pet's environment. So you need to treat all pets in the household as well as the environment (which contains the fleas, their eggs and larvae). Flea treatment:  1) Get some flea medication such as a Flea spray or a spot on from a pet shop or your veterinarian and apply monthly 2) get flea powder, put some in your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum your house and furniture and also non-carpeted areas frequently to remove flea larvae and eggs which live off house dust., Dispose of the bag in the trash outside. Hot-wash all the pet's bedding, If you do this diligently for a few months you will get rid of the fleas. Flea products: Spot-ons and/or chews Advantage, Advantage Multi Frontli

my cat has tape worms and i'm not sure if i should take home to the vet. he had also had seizure a few days ago. so should i take him to the vet?
Tapeworms (the most common type, at least) can only be treated effectively with the drug praziquantel, which in the U.S. is only available with a vet's prescription. If he has tapeworms he also has fleas, more than likely, so he needs to be treated for fleas as well. And definitely, if Calvin has had a seizure, this is not normal and very concerning, so yes, you should take him in.
