Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Creamora. Poor boy! If he's limping, that means he is in pain and that would cause him to act listless. Rest him tonight. Do not allow him to go outside if he's allowed out, and keep him confined to a small area to limit his movement. Please do not give him any human pain medications. Many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. In the morning, take him into the vet. The vet diagnose why he is limping and can give him safe pain medication. I hope this helps!

Hello Anisa! Limping means he is in pain, and pain could make him lethargic as well. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him, as many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. I think you should take him into the vet first thing in the morning. The vet can diagnose why he is in pain, and can treat him. I hope this helps!

Due to the large number of symptoms your cat is experiencing (lethargy, limp and vomiting) it is best to schedule an appointment with your local veterinarian for care. It is possible that the limp may be caused by an injury that is causing pain and or nausea in your cat, leading to the lethargy and vomiting. Pets in a lot of pain may refuse to eat, and thus not get enough energy, or may become nauseated or vomit up their food. Addressing the underlying problem (in this case, possibly the limp) can help improve overall symptoms. Feeding a bland diet of warmed up boiled chicken or turkey may also encourage your cat to eat some, getting his energy levels up and helping him to keep food down. Until you can be seen by the vet, be sure to keep your cat quiet and calm and restrict activity. This will help prevent further injury to the affected limb and may help to relieve some pain or nausea related. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Little Boy! If he is eating and drinking keep him indoors to monitor him for a few days. If the limp goes away, great it was a strain or a sprain. If he is still limping in 2-3 days you should take him to her Vet. If he isn't eating and is lethargic you should take him today. Possible causes are strain/sprain, from fighting with another cat (can lead to an abscess), broken bone or ligament injury. I wish Little Boy the best!

Limping is a sign of pain, and if Earl is limping when he begins to walk, then he is in pain. He could have strained a muscle, and it's painful when he first wakes up. I would rest him for the next couple of days. No running, jumping, or playing. If he is allowed outside, I would keep him indoors during this time. Should he still have this limp after a couple of days, then I would bring him into the vet for an exam. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. The vet can prescribe him safe pain medications as needed.

Based on the information you have provided, and the attached pictures, I am also very concerned that Sprinkles may have sustained significant trauma, causing her to be non-weightbearing lame on her left hind leg. Whether she was hit by a car or potentially fell and injured her leg, it sounds like she is in a significant amount of pain. She also looks like she has abraded skin (a wound) on that leg as well, which is at risk of becoming infected. I recommend having her seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to have her injuries addressed. He/she will perform a full physical exam to localize her pain and determine if she has other, more life-threatening injuries such as damage to her chest or abdomen. X-rays may be indicated if a fracture is suspected. Ultimately, pain medication and antibiotics can be prescribed to help ease her pain and prevent infection. I am sorry to hear about Luna. If Luna is limping there are many different possible causes, including soft tissue injury (such as a muscle sprain/strain, torn ligament), a fracture (it isn't always obvious when a pet breaks a bone if the fracture is not displaced), a torn or sore toenail, a skin infection of the toenails or bottom of the foot, nerve disorders, or in older pets tumors of the muscle or bone. I would recommend examination by a vet if the issue has been present since Sunday with no improvement. Unfortunately there are no safe pain medications available over the counter for cats, so I would just try to keep her quiet/restrict her activity/keep her indoors until she can be seen.

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco! Limping in a cat is much less common than limping in dogs. Usually if a cat is limping it is a more significant injury. Even though you do not notice anything outwardly abnormal there is definitely a problem if she won't use that leg. The issue could be a soft tissue injury, bone injury (like a fracture or dislocation), a joint problem or a nerve injury. There is no way to tell without having a vet examine her and have some x-rays done. If you want to give her a few days to see how she goes you can certainly do that as long as she is eating and drinking well. But, if after about 3 days she is not much improved she definitely needs to see a vet. You cannot give cats over the counter human medications like paracetamol, aspirin, etc. Cats are EXTREMELY sensitive to those medications. It is best to just monitor her and keep her indoors, calm and quiet. Try to minimize her jumping, running, playing the best you can. Hope this helps. If you

Cats can be very good at hiding pain. It sounds like there is a chronic but mild injury that gets worse with increased activity. I would take her to a vet in the period that she is limping so the vet can try to figure out where the limp is coming from. If there is nothing that can be fixed, often an extended period of rest (or indoor time) and NSAIDs can help her body heal.

Hi there. A couple things could be going on with Sam. He could have a soft tissue injury, a fracture, or he could have an abscess in his leg or foot that has not come to the surface yet. If you’re able to take him to the vet on emergency today it would just help him feel more comfortable more quickly but if that is something that is difficult to do you should be OK to wait until tomorrow because he’s acting normally otherwise. My cat hasn't been eating and has been severely limping
As your cat hasn't been eating and is limping it is best to schedule a veterinary appointment ASAP. The limp could be caused by a number of things including injury to the leg, such as a break or sprain, wound or infection from a bite or scratch, or muscle or nerve damage. If the limb is hurt severely enough or if infection is present it may make your cat not want to eat. Until you can get to the vet, limit all activity to prevent further injury to the limb, and try to entice eating by warming up some wet food or adding some warmed boiled chicken to your cat's food. However it is necessary to schedule a vet appointment ASAP.
