Should I worry about a small bump on my cat's lower mouth not growing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 years and 4 months old

Should I be worried about this small bump on my cats lower mouth? I just noticed it two days ago. It’s not getting any bigger. He doesn’t seem bothered when I touch it and he’s not acting abnormally. He’s an indoor cat and there are no other animals. His food has been the same for the past year.

Hello. I would just watch this for now. I have removed several of these off of older cats, & they are most often benign & not dangerous. Removal is always curative. If it looks like it is enlarging, or it is interfering with his ability to eat or chew, definitely consider having it removed. Otherwise, just monitor for now.
