My cats urine is brown. I am assuming she might have a urinary tract infection of some sort. I am unable to get her to a vet right away, and I was wondering if there was a way to treat a cat UTI at home. I mean, can I use D-Mannose? If so, how much should I use?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Yes, it sounds that Nikki has cystitis. D-mannose can be used it cats. The dose is about 1/4-1/2 teaspoon once a day. However, it probably will not be very effective. Bacterial urinary tract infection requires a course of antibiotic to resolve. Please, take Nikki your local vets as soon as possible.

If Echo has bacteria in urine, she will need an antibiotic to help solve. D-Mannose is a supplement that helps to support urinary tract health but may not help much if Echo already has a urinary tract infection. If you'd like to use the supplement in the future, I would recommend getting all dosing recommendations from Echo's vet. Unfortunately we cannot give out dosing information legally over the internet.
