Pet's info: Small Animal | Guinea Pig | Female | unspayed
I brought my guinea pig home almost a month ago, she was noisy and liked to wheek a lot. A week later I got her a friend, who was not noisy but is now the noisy one. I kept them separated for a week to be sure nothing was wrong with the new one before introducing them. They get along just fine, but my first GP who was really noisy is not anymore. For the past few days she barely makes noise and sounds very soft when she does. still eats all day, poops, runs, popcorns, etc. should I be concerned?

Thanks for reaching out about Anna. This could be a physical problem or a psychological problem. If the voice changes, this could be an indication of a respiratory problem or other. Behaviorally, a change in hierarchy could explain the change. Continue to monitor for appetite, or if any other clinical signs appear, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan.
