When I take my dog for a walk longer than 5 minutes, she poops multiple times, and usually they get progressively softer in consistency. Yesterday she pooped 4 times in 1 hour. She doesn't have accidents inside and has no other symptoms. She's 1 year old. Is this cause for concern?

Hello. Probably not. Exercise can & will facilitate bowel movements, & the faster stool moves through the bowels, the less water is absorbed making the stools a little softer. This may be just normal for your pup. If anything changes, of course discuss this with your veterinarian, but if everything else is OK, I would not be too worried. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Its not necessarily abnormal. It depends on what California's normal stool consistency is. If this is different for California, then I would be suspicious that something is happening in her bowel causing a different stool type. It could be something in the diet, a parasite or bacterial imbalance. Please post again if you have any further questions!
