My dog's paw is red and swollen. Why is he licking it constantly?

Hello, I have a question about some redness and swelling right under my dogs paw. He bites and licks at it constantly and I cannot figure out what it is. I would like to avoid going to the vet if it’s not necessary. Here I have attached some images. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 22 lbs

Hello. This may be an indication that Milo has some allergies & sensitivities to something in his environment. You can try picking up a spray with a little hydrocortisone ( Zymox Topical Spray with Hydrocortisone is a very good one ). Most pet retailers will carry this, but it is available online at Amazon & Chewy.com. Spray a couple of times a day for the next few days & see if the irritation lessens.
