My dog's belly is red and rashy from scratching. What should I do?

My dog has been scratching and licking his belly so much that his fur has a mat now. After I shaved it I saw that his belly is really red and has a lot of rash. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 6 years old | 20 lbs

Hi, it looks like Buddy has inflammation of the skin, possibly secondary to an allergy . He might also have a secondary bacterial infection. It would be best to have him checked over so that he can have some medications to help his skin settle. Hope this helps and that Buddy gets better soon !
