Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 6.6 lbs

Hi, Hope all is well with you. How bad should my cat breath be to worry me? How can I know she needs to be checked by her vet. Now this covid19 is still a problem in my country & I don't wanna take her out. Just please help me if I should be worried or relax? Thank you so much.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Noushmc. Bad breath typically means that there is an infection in the mouth as a result of dental disease. If she will allow you to look in the mouth, you may also notice tartar on the teeth as well as gingivitis (red inflamed gums). This will need to be evaluated and treated by her veterinarian. However, if she is eating, drinking and acting normal, then it is not likely an emergency. When restrictions in your country let up, you can seek care for her. I hope this information helps!
