I am sorry to hear that you and waffles are dealing with kidney disease. But it sounds like you are on top of it and are being very proactive, which is great! It is ok to use diethylstilbestrol (i.e. DES or stilbestrol) with the Aventi supplement. These 2 should not cause problems when given together. I am not sure what stage waffle’s kidney disease is at, and I am not sure the nature of his urinary incontinence. But, I just wanted to mention that since kidney disease causes dogs to drink more and subsequently urinate a larger volume more frequently, his incontinece could potentially improve as his kidney disease is managed, making him less reliant on the DES down the line. There are Many things we use to help manage kidney disease depending on the stage of disease, the blood work values, the signs the dog is showing etc. Special veterinary diets such as Hills k/d diet or royal canin renal support diet can be very helpful as part of the management.
