My cat licked adhesive. What should I do and watch for at home?

Hello my cat licked acrylpro adhesive not sure how much but she seems ok so far. Gave her some hairball remedy in her mouth since it has Vaseline to help guide anything out if hardens. Wiped her mouth as much as I could she is a very hard to handle cat. She has to be tranquilized to be seen. Is there anything at home that I can look out for or give her to help with toxicity. If she seems off at all will see if can rush her to the vet but in quarantine so trying to keep a watch. Thanks

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Kali. You did the right thing by wiping out her mouth. I would monitor her for vomiting, excessive drooling, and a loss of appetite. If you see any of those signs, have her seen by a vet immediately. Feed her as normal and make sure she drinks plenty of water. Best of luck.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! If the floor looked dry I am sure she is fine. I do not think she needs to see a vet. If you want to rinse her mouth out well with water as a precaution and wipe her paws well with water to prevent any more possible ingestion that isn't wrong. If she becomes lethargic, drools, won't eat or in anyway appears abnormal then bring her to the Vet. But based on your description I think she will be fine. Maybe have a discussion with your roommate about this so it won't happen again. I hope this helps!

Hello. It sounds like you did a great job cleaning Frances off. Small ingestions like this are rarely harmful or dangerous, so I would not be worried. Just watch for any gastrointestinal upsets like vomiting, diarrhea or a loss of appetite. I really do not expect you to see anything, but it is good to be watchful. I just caught my 8 year old cat licking crusted shampoo on the shampoo bottle cap. She's acting normal as of now. What should I do?
Unless she ate a large amount of it (1 tablespoon or more), she should be fine. You can call the poison control hotline ( http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/ ) to confirm as they will have the most up to date information if it would help you. I would keep a close eye on Axel because these sprays can be toxic to cats. You did the right thing by washing out his mouth right away, and hopefully he didn’t ingest enough to cause a problem. If he becomes anorexic, lethargic, starts vomiting, or has dark stools, take him into a vet right away. Hopefully, however, he will be fine.

Hi. We applied Advocate flea treatment to both of our cats this evening. A couple of hours later one of our cats licked the treatment site of the other cat. Do we need to take her to an emergency vets or keep an eye on her?
Just keep an eye on her. She would need to eat a lot of the product to get sick. You may want to give some wet food with added water to get the product to pass through more quickly. I would expect some drooling as the only side effect. Do monitor her though and should you see any medical problems such as tremors or vomiting and diarrhea then I would take her in. Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Tater. Poor boy. I'm wondering if he's nauseous from licking the bar of soap causing the drooling. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the drooling continues on the bland diet, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. My dad sprayed DIF cleaning product on the bathroom wall and before he could wash it off my Sphynx licked the wall twice. Does he need to go to the vet or is he okay because it was only two licks?
Hello. I cannot find the exact product you are referring to, however with cleaning products the most typical problem is irritation to the region where there was exposure. Usually this means that ingestion will cause ulcers and irritation in the mouth, or in the GI tract. I would suggest rinsing out the mouth and monitoring for any clinical signs including vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, seizures, decreased attitude (being very quiet, not wanting to move or play). As long as Clint is acting normally, and isn't salivating (drooling) a lot or acting abnormal, he should be ok. You can always call your emergency clinic or post the full name of the product that we can double check as well for any more toxic ingredients. I hope Clint feels better!

Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Ingesting or licking off a small amount of shampoo shouldn't be too worrisome. The vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased appetite may have another medical cause such as an infection from a virus or bacteria or perhaps a parasite. I would recommend Nami see her veterinarian for an exam and evaluation soon. Your veterinarian may want to test Nami's stool or run blood work or x-rays to help determine a cause so she can get appropriately treated. Until you can get to her veterinarian, you feed her a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice to help settle her stomach. I hope this helps and thanks again for posting!

Because Blue only licked it so briefly, I would not rush her into a vet. You may see some drooling and frothing at mouth. I would rinse out her mouth with cool water using a syringe, and keep an eye on her. If she does start acting out of the ordinary, starts having uncoordinated movements, tremors, convulsions, or seizures, I would take her into a vet immediately.
