Nexgard not repelling ticks? Can I add Seresto or switch products?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | spayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 60 lbs

We use Nexgard for flea and tick control for our dog (2 yr old Goldendoodle) We've had no flea problems but we live in the middle of the woods so we do have a problem with her bringing ticks into the house almost daily (since it does nothing to REPEL them). What product do you recommend either to ADD to Nexgard or to replace? She took one on the 2nd of May, so let us know if interactions are an issue. We are considering a Seresto collar but don't know if it can be used along with Nexgard.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The manufacturers of flea and tick products do not recommend using more than one product at the time, as there could be an increased risk of side effects. Seresto is a very good product, it will be worth to give it a go but you should wait about 4 weeks after Luna had NexGard tablet.
