Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 1 year old
I've recently noticed a bump on my dog's elbow. He doesn't seem bugged by it at all. But it's concerning to me as his owner. I searched for probable causes. So to my understanding, it could be a hygroma. I'm still quite unsure about what's considered a big lump and a small lump. Everything I've read so far says it's able to heal in about 2-3weeks if not serious. How do I know if I can wait it out? What's concerned serious and threatening? Since I don't want my dog's conditions to worsen.

Any lumps/bumps that you notice on your dog should be checked out by your vet. Lumps can be any of these things: * abscess (infection) * cyst * cancer (benign or malignant) * wart * hygroma * hernia Unfortunately, there is no way I can tell you what it is with 100% certainty just based on your description or by looking at a photo but I have a suspicion that you are correct and it is a hygroma. If you are worried it is always best to get something like this checked out sooner rather than later.
