My cat's jaw is bleeding 36 hours after injury. When will it stop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello! My cat got a hit on his jaw, someone kicked him. My vet who treated her wound said, that only his gums injured. He cleaned a the wound and give him two shots. My question is, that when his bleeding should stop? Now is about 36 hours to bleeding and drooling slowly. He’s drinking but he definitely has a lot of pain. He’s trying to lick his mouth and sometimes rotating his head.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about your cat. Oh no, poor kitty! I would expect the bleeding to have stopped by now. You need to take him into a vet immediately, Best of luck.
