My dog ate two cooked lamb bones. Should I be worried? Nothing seems to be wrong with him at the moment

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. You need to monitor your Dolbie for the next 24-48hrs. Bones usually are digested in the stomach but they may form gastro-intestinal obstruction or cause constipation. If Dolbie starts to vomit, strain to pass faeces, is passing stools with blood or not passing any stools at all for longer than 24hrs, you will have to take him to your local vets right away. If after 48hrs he does not develop any symptoms, it will mean that he is out of danger.

Oh no, that's not good that Bella at that bone! Unfortunately, there's not much you can do now besides monitor her, and give her a slice of whole bread now and with every meal. It's not recommended to induce her to vomit it up, as it can become stuck in her esophagus on the way up or cause damage to the esophagus. Because cooked bones can easily splinter in the GI tract and cause damage, giving her the slices of bread may form a ball of ingesta around the bones cushioning them as they pass through the GI tract. Monitor Bella for signs of obstruction and perforation which include vomiting, blood in vomit, diarrhea, blood in the feces, anorexia, lethargy, and constipation. Should you see any of those signs, please take her into a vet immediately.

That was naughty of Ellie to getting into the trash! I would give her a slice of whole wheat bread now, and one with every meal This will hopefully form a ball of ingesta around any bone she may have eaten, and cushion it as it travels through the GI tract. Definitely watch her to be safe, and if you see any vomiting, blood in the vomit, diarrhea, blood in the feces, anorexia, and/or lethargy, you will need to take her into the vet. Hopefully, however, she will be ok!
