What is this changing lump on my cat that doesn't seem to hurt her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 13 years and 1 month old

My cat has a lesion on her left side. It doesn't seem to bother her in any way, or cause any other symptoms. It sometimes changes shape, color, or texture. She's had it about six months.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This lesion needs be checked by a vet as it does not look like a typical 'fatty lump'. . Your vet may want to aspirate the lesion to make the diagnosis and then recommend the treatment.
