My cat has a sudden hole wound on leg, no pain. What could it be?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 years and 9 months old | 12.9 lbs

Just found hole like wound in cats leg. Wasnt there a day ago. He is not showing signs of discomfort. What could have caused this thing? Theres no pus or anything wiggling around in there when touched.

Bob could have injured himself in the house or outside if he's allowed outdoors. I can't say for certain without seeing him in person. Based on the picture, I think it could use a stitch to close it, so that's why I recommend taking him into a vet now.

Hello I can't tell from the picture how deep that wound is but it does look infected and there's underlying tissue and possibly muscle exposed. I recommend takinh your cat to see a veterinarian as she could be licking at the site when you're not watching and causing further infection. It may need to be closed or the vet may decide it should stay open (with some infected wounds closing can cause an abscess to form) and put her on antibiotics and pain medication. She might also need an E collar to prevent her from licking the area further.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! Without seeing a photo of the cut, it is difficult to know what is going on. Either a fall or cut may have caused the wound. I don't know how severe it is, but if the bleeding cannot be stopped or you think Moya is in pain, I recommend having her seen by a vet as soon as possible. If the wound is healing, I recommend trying to keep the area clean and dry. You should monitor the area for swelling or discharge as these may be sign of an infection. I hope this helps!

So I have found a hole in my cat's leg, near his paw. It looks like a snake bite to me but there is only one hole. When I look into the hole, it actually looks Hollow. Should I go to a vet nearby, or will my cat be okay?
This is likely a bite wound from another cat or mammal. If it was a snake bite your cat's leg would be very swollen or he would be dead by now.. However almost 100% of bite wounds in cats develop an abscess. This is why you should have your kitty examined by your vet who will clip, clean and disinfect the wound, flush it if necessary and may prescribe an antibiotic and pain medicine.

My cat has a wound on his front leg, not sure if its healing or getting worse. The cat is limping
Poor kitty! Since this wound looks rather deep and he is limping, I would definitely recommend having him seen by a veterinarian - it looks like he will probably need an antibiotic and possibly an anti-inflammatory or other pain medication, in order to treat the injury and help it heal.

DSH cat. Had a wound on him right front leg about 2-3cm long and looks rather deep I think? Hea not limping, he's happy, the wound looks pretty clean. Should I take to vet asap to get looked at or can I see how he is in the morning?
It appears that the muscle layer is exposed in this wound, meaning that there could be some deeper trauma in the area. Often these wounds can result in deep abscesses if not treated. It would be best to bring him to a vet for wound cleaning, flushing, and exploration. If sutures are needed, wounds are most successfully treated within the first 6-8 hours. Poor guy!

However, this does warrant an evaluation as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. We found a cat that seems that it got in a cat fight and got a large gash in its leg. We think we can see cartilage. See photos. Will this heal?
The picture appears to show either a tendon, ligament, or bone, though I can't completely rule out abscessed / infected tissue. Cats are usually great at healing from even deep wounds, however, it is likely to become infected without antibiotics and proper cleaning of the affected tissue. Your veterinarian will likely want to examine Little Foot for any other wounds or injuries, clean the area, and get him started on antibiotics. Your vet is likely to also place an e-collar on him to prevent him from licking at the tissue and slowing down the healing process. It is also important to consider how painful a wound that deep must be for Little Foot. Cats cannot take human pain medications, as they can cause severe liver damage, so your vet will probably want to address pain with a cat safe medication.

My cat came back home with blood on his leg. It looks like a wound and he did not walk normally. He did not want to eat and only sleep. It is possible that his leg is broken?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is not possible to know this just based on this picture. However, with a history of possible trauma and the presence of blood then a fracture is possible. Just based on the presence of blood and the possibility of a fracture, I would highly recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check what seems to be the issue so that it can be treated accordingly. Good luck!

My cat somehow broke her front left leg around October 16. She was recovering quite good but after some time she got some punctures in that area of the leg which inturn changed to wounds. Those wounds are occasionally blessing and paining her a lot..
That leg looks very painful and the puncture may have abscessed (infection). This can be due to a fight with another cat, an injury, or even an issue with how the leg is healing. It would be best to bring Billu to a vet ASAP as the wound will need to be thoroughly flushed out and then treated with a course of antibiotics and pain medications to help him recover.

I'm not sure what articles you are reading, but a wound like this should never be left alone! If a bone or tendon is showing, that is a deep wound that requires stitches to close. In addition, Jack will need antibiotics to prevent an infection, and pain medications as this will be quite painful for him. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. I would take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
