Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Male | neutered | 3 years and 9 months old | 140 lbs
I need to know the general guidelines on how much exercise and stimulation a large dog requires. I work at a place where a large dog (Great Pyrenees) is kept in an 8 x 10 structure 24 hours a day. It is too large to run in the pen. He is 4 yrs of age and has been locked up at least a year, I used to take it for walks but no longer can. I'm attempting to get the owner to rethink this but require some professional support. The dog is digging and chewing up his dog house.

Joseph is like digging and chewing up his dog house because he's bored and under stimulated. That is way too small, and frankly it's cruel to leave a dog this big in such a small pen 24 hours a day. For a dog 91-110 pounds, an exercise pen is recommended to be 48"H x 8 x 24"W. Given the he is larger than that, it needs to be bigger. Point this out to the owner, and the fact this is cruel.
