My Labradoodle has missing teeth and isn't eating. Is it dental?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 65 lbs

Hi, I recently noticed my labradoodle, Luca, looks like he’s missing some teeth. It just doesn’t seem like he has the same teeth count as I’ve seen in pictures. He’s not the best eater but I always thought it was because he was picky. His diet consists of 3 puperoni sticks in the morning and bowl of salmon Merrick dry dog food (he’s allergic to poultry) and a few Dry liver treats at bed time. Please lmk your thoughts.

Yes, it looks like Luca is missing some of the lower premolars. It also looks like Luca has a fair amount of calculus and some gingivitis as well. I recommend to have Luca examined by the veterinarian. It's likely to to start having his teeth professionally cleaned. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
