My dog sits sideways and sighs. Is it old injury or new hip pain?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | neutered | 3 years and 4 months old | 76 lbs

Our dog was giving anti-inflammatory and steroids to cure a bruised left back leg. He’s back to normal now and runs and walks well. However when he sits, it’s always in the side and he sighs as if in pain. Could it be the remnant I’d his pain or a new hip pain ?

This could be due to a deeper trauma which could be possibly still causing pain. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. X rays of the hips may be needed.
