New ferret throwing up and shivering: Is it serious or contagious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Ferret | Female | spayed

I had a question about the new ferret I just adopted. She has been throwing up and shivering. I have a vet appointment on Monday but will she make it until then? Will she get my others sick?

I would definitely keep her in complete isolation from others until you can arrange an emergency appointment for her. Given the shivering and vomiting I would not wait until Monday as she may be seriously dehydrated
