Why is my cat dry heaving, tensing, hiding, and making hacking noises?

my cat keeps dry heaving and tensing his whole body up. doesn't wanna be touched and is hiding under the bed. sometimes he makes this loud hacking noise and sometimes its just quiet. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old

Poor Simba. I'm concerned about him, he sounds pretty sick. He may be very nauseous or could have a severe respiratory infection. Given his current symptoms, I think it would be best for him if you took him into a vet now. Best of luck.
