I accidentally put flea/tick drops in my dog's ear. Is he safe?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 3 years and 9 months old | 70 lbs

My dog was shaking head a lot in middle of night. We have earmite solution. After putting solution in dogs ears I realized that I accidentally put a tube of flea and tick solution in his ears instead of the earmite meds. I am freaking out because I’m not sure if this will harm my dog. Will you please advise me if the dog will be ok or if I just poisoned or harmed him? I don’t have an emergency vet clinic near me to take him to.

Intoxication is possible even though if you put the right dose for his weight side effects should not be dangerous. I would recommend to wash the ear canal with water to get rid of the spot on solution as much as possible. Please give us more informations about the product you applied to receive more specific advices from us.
