My dog is crying and struggling to poop after spay surgery. Help!

My 6 old morkie just got spayed yesterday. She is struggling to poop. Yelping and crying. What should we do? Pet's info: Dog | Morkie | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 8 days old | 6 lbs

Hi. Poor ginger. Sometimes patients won't defecate for a couple days post surgery. But, if she is actually struggling to go, she may be constipated. If it is continuous struggling I would go to ER. If it's just been a couple times, i would do all you can to get her to drink water, add water to her food. Hopefully that will help. Go to ER if she is in pain
