Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Female | 6 years and 10 months old | 45 lbs
Unfortunately my dog died yesterday all of a sudden. She was a 7 year cocker spaniel and a bit overweight. She was not eating properly for 2 days but she was very active and healthy. She played with me for 2 hours before the day she died. The next afternoon I went near her to give lunch. She was there lying down no breathing and foam running out of her nose. I touchee her and she was so stiff like a stick. She died all of a sudden without a symptom. Please let me know the reason for her death.

Hello. I am so sorry for your loss. I am so sad for you. Without a complete medical history, it is impossible to determine causation, but sudden death can be brought on by heart failure, drug or toxin ingestion, electrocution, a ruptured spleen, blood vessel or undiagnosed tumor, severe anaphylaxis, or some other congenital problem just waiting to happen. A sudden death is always shocking & I can understand your need for answers, but sometimes things just happen & they are totally out of our control. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Without a post mortem examination, it can be almost impossible to determine what happened. Possible causes include undiagnosed cardiac or neurological conditions, toxicity or a congenital defect.

I'm very sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, there are many different things that can cause sudden death in dogs - choking is one possibility, as well as a sudden stroke or cardiac arrhythmia, toxin ingestion, internal bleeding, etc. The only way to know for sure would be to have an autopsy done (called a necropsy in animals). Again, I'm very sorry for your loss.
