Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | unspayed
One of my dad's cats has started to emit no sound by meowing, it's not hoarse which would indicate possible laryngitis, so was my initial belief. He's also commented that she occasionally has her tongue sticking out. I can't find anything related to what she's showing and he thinks it to be plaque buildup, but hasn't mentioned anything regarding the condition of her teeth nor think it would affect such, as attempting to look up references does not address his speculation, unless I'm wrong?

Please know that without seeing Cally in person, I can't say what is going on. In cats, laryngitis can cause a sudden loss of voice without sounding hoarse, so that could be possible. Sticking the tongue out can be a sign of dental disease, but it could also be she is feeling nauseous. I'd have your dad take her into a vet for a health check. I hope this helps!
