My Rottweiler is vomiting, not eating, and foaming. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 10 months old | 90 lbs

About 4-5 days ago my rottweiler Diesel started throwing up (2 days) after that he hasn’t been eating. Lost a lot of weight. He has no energy and doesn’t want to move much. He is foaming around his mouth. Today I gave him two portions of cooked brown rice with bit of chicken and he ate slowly. Drank some water. Barely got up for a walk.

Poor Diesel. He sounds pretty sick, and I'm quite concerned that he's lost a lot of weight. At this point in time, I think he needs veterinary attention now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

It sounds as Harry is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My Rottweiler is just laying around. Hard to get him outside to go potty. Has not had a bowl movement since yesterday morning. Not eating like he normally does.
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rox. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. He should be seen today if ar all possible. His symptoms are vague, but worrisome in a dog of his age. The veterinarian will examine him and determine if he is perhaps experiencing orthopedic pain or an internal issues. Testing such as blood work or x-rays may be warranted. Based on these results, treatment can be started to help him feel better. In the meantime, help him when he needs to move. You can use a towel under his hips as a sling to him get up and to walk. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!

I'm sorry but Lucy needs to see a vet immediately. There is nothing we can recommend you can give her at home since we do not know what is wrong with her. It could be related to the CHF but it could be something completely irrelevant to that like bloat. Please take her to the nearest ER.

My 7 month old, male husky mix is not eating or drinking, and is vomiting white foam as well as being lethargic. What's wrong?
Poor Dingo! It sounds like he is very ill at the moment. He could have a severe GI illness, could have eaten something rotten, could have parvovirus if he isn't vaccinated, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis. His symptoms are severe enough from your description that I feel he needs an immediate vet visit. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Why is my dog drooling a bit,has a runny nose,lethargy,loss of appetite,vomiting,watery poop(no bloods)
It sounds like your dog is sick. The drooling can be due to nausea, and the lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea could be due to a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take your dog into a vet right away for an exam, he sounds quite ill with all these symptoms, and he needs to be medically treated ASAP.

Poor Diesel! Ongoing vomiting/heaving and extreme lethargy are a conceding set of symptoms. I would recommend taking Diesel to your regular veterinarian as soon as possible to see what is going on. He may simply have some gastritis (stomach irritation/inflammation) from eating something he shouldn't, or he could have an intestinal obstruction or even a twisted stomach. Your vet will do a thorough physical exam and likely will recommend additional diagnostics such as X-rays. If they feel Diesel is dehydrated they may recommend he stay in the hospital for IV fluids and medications to help him feel better. I hope you are able to get to the bottom of it, and that Diesel feels better soon.

My 1 year old Rottweiler vomited a few times last night. He's drinking water but has not touched his food. Still a little mischievous/alert but is energy is not as usual.
I am very sorry to hear that Flexx is experiencing these problems, I am sure it is very unsettling for you both. There are a number of potential causes of such clinical signs, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Because you have only noticed these signs over the course of a few hours I would continue to monitor Flexx at home. The foamy clear vomit you may have noticed is most likely the final contents of Flexx's now empty stomach; bile and stomach acids. It's not anything to be worried about. Rest Flexx's gastrointestinal tract by holding back food for a few hours. Then you can continue with a bland and easily digested food of the boiled chicken breast and white rice diet and provide plenty of fresh water. If Flexx does not improve, has profuse vomiting or diarrhoea, you notice fresh blood, Fkexx seems lethargic, in pain or depressed I would advise a trip to the veterinarian. I hope that answer was

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Rote is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Rote evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start him on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your boy!

I have a Rottweiler puppy she is about 4 Months I believe after she drinks she vomits & she’s been laying around not being playful like normal
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Bear. She should see a veterinarian if her symptoms continue. She could have ate something that has upset her stomach, she could have intestinal parasites or a more serious viral infection (vaccines are designed to prevent these). Her veterinarian will likely start with fecal testing and decide on a treatment plan from there. It is easy for puppies to become dehydrated. Continue to offer her small amounts of food and water every few hours. I hope this information helps!
