Why isn't my cat scratching? Is it a health concern or normal?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8.7 lbs

I have a new cat names Sherman who’s around 8 years old. I noticed he doesn’t scratched on his post or furniture at all. I’m relieved he has no interested in the furniture but am concerned that him not scratching at all isn’t healthy. Is it something I need to be concerned about or is it ok?

No health concern here. Some cats just don't prefer to use scratch posts. Just keep in mnid that you will have to get his nails cut more frequently to keep them short, say once every 3-6 weeks, since he isn't filing them down with the scratch post.
