My cat has liver growths. Why can't they be operated on or drained?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | neutered | 9 years and 10 months old | 11 lbs

My cat apparently has several fluid filled growths in his abdomen which are attached to his liver, why can they not operate or drain some of them?

Without seeing the diagnostics, unfortunately if attached to the liver they may not be able to appropriately remove them. The liver is a major organ that Freddie needs. I would call your veterinarian to discuss more. I am so sorry for Freddie's diagnosis and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
