My puppy is vomiting, not eating, low energy, no poop. What's wrong?

We noticed our puppy hasn’t pooped all day. He has thrown up twice. Not completely lethargic, but energy level is lower. Drinking water and urinating still. Just offered food and he didn’t want it. That’s the first time since we have owned him.

Poor Harry. I'm quite concerned that he doesn't want food and has thrown up twice. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.

Hello he may be having a little bit of residual nausea which is why he won't eat. If he's drinking water and holding it down OK, sometimes a bland diet like boiled chicken white rice can help. However if he begins vomiting again, becomes depressed or seems painful, or eats and vomits then he should be seen by his veterinarian.

If he's only thrown up once you can try a little bland boiled chicken and rice to try and entice her to eat, but if she's refusing any and all food, seems to have a tender tummy, and can't go to the bathroom, seeking veterinary care ASAP is best to rule out more serious issues such as illness, obstruction, parasites, etc.

Chronic vomiting, has multiple causes but may cause an electrolyte imbalance which could account for the symptoms you are seeing. If he is drinking more water than usual, he should be seen by your vet for an exam and bloodwork to rule out kidney disease, diabetes or other GI issues. When a pet is vomiting, withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. If he won't eat, serve the food warm or mix in a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate the appetite. If the vomiting stops, transition slowly to the regular diet. If not or if the appetite does not return, then you will need to see your veterinarian.

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. try to offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

My dog is throwing up clear? Not eating normally, and very lazy. I haven't seen any blood in his poop or throw up. But I'm concerned.
I certainly understand being worried about Blue, but it is good you don't see any blood in his poop or vomit. He could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or may have pancreatitis. I will give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. Hello. At this point, since Henley still has an appetite, I think you can wait a bit. Has he been checked for worms recently? That might be some thing to look at. Otherwise, let's rest his gut for about 24 hours. Replace the water in his bowl with ice cubes so he does not gulp down water. You will need to replace the cubes frequently, but he will not overdo things. Feed him a bland diet is small amounts. Mix 25% cooked chicken or hamburger ( no skin or fat ) & 75% plain rice or low fat cottage cheese & offer no more than a cup every 3-4 hours for the next 24 hours & see if this resets his gut. Anything changes or worsens, please see your vet for additional testing or treatments. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
