How to treat my dog's bleeding tail from happy tail syndrome?

My dog wags his tail so hard the end starts bleeding, I think people call it "happy tail syndrome." How can I treat/stop/properly wrap it so it stops. I tried a tube sock and tape but that comes right off. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 55 lbs

It is very difficult to treat happy tail sometimes - most bandages do tend to fall off. I've seen veterinarians wrap the tail between the legs in a bandage on the belly, but this will only work if Dexter's tail is long enough. Sometimes surgery to amputate the end of the tail is necessary since the wound never heals.
